Nana del Riego

Lianet Martínez redirects the traditional value of certain icons and referents while, generating communicative tics that allow us to glimpse her art as a space for confrontations between balance and tension; between conservatism and radicalism; between ornament and subversion.

Nana del Riego's pieces are a reinterpretation of the concept of the self-portrait. Nana sees herself and tries to decipher and complete herself, through the attempt to also decipher Western culture: its canons, its vices, its ways; Alchemy is a revision of the self as well as a retrace of various processes of our daily modernity.
